Bergen to Sognefjord
The diving around Bergen is good, although most groups on a one week charter will want to sample the even better diving further north. For the adventurous given settled weather there is some virtually unexplored diving out to the west of the area. The scenery in the area is pleasant, but not as dramatic or rugged as that to the north. The shipping lanes are also fairly busy, with very large vessels common in the approaches to Mongstad. Bergen itself is a lively yet civilised city. The views from the top of the funicular are spectacular. A run through the woods up to the top and back is just the thing to clear your hangover after the last night party.
